Merry Christmas. Let me share a brief story. I started writing Christian books after 40 days of praying on my knees each night, asking only to do God's will. On day 41 he gave me the idea to write a Christian book, and I have been writing ever since-15 books to date. Thanks for letting me share. Blessings, Gene http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B077YTVSJZ
A Piece of Paper
Something new happened to me this morning. A young man I hadn't met before came up to me and handed me a folded piece of paper and he said "I want you to pray for me" so I promised him I would and I left. When I opened the note in the car I read the reason for his unusual request. He was estranged from his family due to a mistake he made and he needed forgiveness and healing of his mind and spirit. I prayed fervently that God would answer his plea and give him everything he asked for and more from God's generosity, grace and mercy. I am confident God will do that because it is the same prayer I have prayed for myself and my family in the past and God answered my prayer and gave me more than I could have imagined from of his grace and mercy. God is an awesome God, full of compassion and love for every one of his children, regardless of who they are or what they have done to themselves or to others. He always says "I forgive."
Father in heaven, thank you for loving us and forgiving us when we go astray, which we all do from time to time. Thank you for your presence in our hearts and minds. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me, I pray in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, one God, worlds without end, amen.

Holy Moses.
It's Friday morning and I'm busy writing a new book titled Moshe Rabbenu--Hebrew for Moses the Teacher. Moses is teaching me new things every day I write. I think the story of Moses and the Exodus is one of the greatest stories ever told. It gives me a good picture of who God is--thoughtful, compassionate, faithful, intelligent, creating, imaginative, trustworthy, honest, healing, skillful, light and truth. Great qualities of an awesome God. that's who I worship and adore. Gene http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B077YTVSJZ

: "My Gift to You"
“The Christmas Gift”
Pope Julius declared it, The word
"Christmas" began
But all the world knows, It was when Christ was born
For Christ is the reason, We celebrate today
Why we buy all the gifts, And then give them away
There's an angel on top, Of our big
Christmas tree
She watches and listens, Is it His love she’ll see
If we love and we share, With our whole family
Everyone can come home, For this Christmas you see
It is now Christmas Day, And it's not
hard to tell
That today is the day, Christ is born--Noel.
Merry Christmas Everybody!

New Light from the Old Testament, (1 Kings: 17) So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah. And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him. And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son? And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed. And he cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son? And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again. And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived. And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth. And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.” Here we see how the God Yahujah reaches out in compassion to the widow and her dead child. Here we see also that the prophet Elijah is given the gift of revival in the raising up of the widow’s child. This is a foretelling of the story of Jesus in the New Testament raising up his dead friend Lazarus. And here we see that the Old Testament God is a God of compassion and mercy, not the vengeful and punishing God so many misconstrue him to be. God is God whether in the Old or the New Testament Bible. This is a very important revelation of the nature of Yahujah. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. And on that fact we can rely completely.
The Creation of Light
John 1, New King James Version (NKJV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’” And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
I love physics. In college I made an A in my five hour physics class at Washburn University, and I loved it. I am especially drawn to quantum physics, the science of matter and light. In the science of quantum physics, or quantum mechanics, physicists now understand that light was the first element of the creation of the universe, and that light was the thing out of which everything that exists is created.
Let’s go back to the book of the evangelist John. What did he say in the beginning? He said that God created light, and then created everything else in the universe. Have we finally come around to the knowledge of God’s creation? It would seem so.
The evangelist said that “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” So out of light, God created you and me and placed us in the Garden of Eden, which was also created out of light, the basic particle now known in quantum physics. But even before that, God created light, and according to the witness of John, that light is Jesus Christ—the Word. I am now seventy-four years old, and I am just now learning, along with science, about the relationship between light and the creation of matter.
Just think of it—John knew about this 2000 years ago. John understood that God created light and everything that exists. How did he know that? He could only have known it if God revealed it to him, right?
So today I ask myself why. Why didn’t I know this before? The answer must be that God had not yet revealed it to me as he did to John. You see, we can know nothing unless God reveals it to us. He uses our physical senses, our parents, and our teachers to do the revealing, but the source is always the same—God himself.

Yerushalayim Shel Zahav (Jerusalem City of Gold)
Shel Zahav refers to the golden color of the Jerusalem stone which builders use to construct buildings and homes in the Holy City of Jerusalem. I went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 2008 during the Week of Passover. I shall never forget it. It was the experience of a lifetime.
How
many times have we been discouraged and disheartened and you have brought
us joy in our souls? How many are the
times when we have sought you and you were always there for us? How many times have we been lost and you have
shown us the way home? O Lord of our
lives and our eternal friend, keep us on the straight and narrow path that
leads to eternal life, in heaven with you and your Son Jesus Christ
Eternal
life is to know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. We know the Hebrew term is “etz hayim,” referring to the Tree of Life in the
Garden of Eden. It is also found in the Book of Proverbs, where it is
figuratively applied to "the Torah" (Proverbs 3:18) "the fruit of
a righteous man" (Proverbs 11:30) "a desire fulfilled" (Proverbs
13:12) and "healing tongue" (Proverbs 15:4).
I
have been to the Kotel, the Wall in Jerusalem during the week of the Passover
celebration, where I placed six prayer notes in the Wall and prayed, and I was
overcome by your holy presence, driven to my knees in tears of joy and
thanksgiving. I thank you for that
unimaginable spiritual experience.
I cried along with many other pilgrims as we walked out of the darkened dome building of the Children's Memorial Hall in the Holocaust Museum. We cried for the lost lives of one and a half million children who were murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust during World War II. We had to cry. It was so painful. And we cried for the six million souls who gave up their lives in the Holocaust. We will never, never, never forget.

I
sat on a small stone bench beneath the olive tree in the Garden of Gethsemane, and basked in the April
sunlight under the 1500 year old olive tree with its ancient gnarled branches. I have walked up the hill to
the Mount of Beatitudes and looked over the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus walked on the water and saved your friend Peter from sinking into the depths of the Sea.
There Jesus rested, while the billows rolled on
the Sea and the disciples called out “Master save us,” and you calmed the Sea and saved them. I
have been on a boat upon the Sea of Galilee and seen where you looked out over the shore where the disciples were eating breakfast, and you came to them, just
as you have come to me before in a dream.
I walked where Jesus walked as he performed
the miracle of turning water into wine, and the miracle of the dove descending down from the heavens following the baptism of Christ in the River Jordan. I stepped into the River Jordan where Jesus was baptized and where
Joshua led the Israelites into the Promised Land.
I have looked up and seen Mount Hermon in northern Galilee where the Bible tells us the oil of anointing poured down onto the beard of Aaron. I praise you O God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, of Sarah and Rebecca and Rachel and Leah. I have walked where Jesus walked, seen what Jesus saw in Jerusalem and Nazareth and Galilee and Bethlehem of Judea.
I have traveled through the desert of the Negev in southern Israel where Abraham and Sarah stopped to drink from the wells at Beersheva. I have looked up at the hill Carmel where Elijah brought down rain and fire and defeated the gods of Jezebel and Ahab. And in all these places where I have been honored and privileged to be I have witnessed your glory and majesty, and I have felt your holy presence within me. And I saw that it was good.

Don't Get Scammed
Don't get scammed. I just got a robocall, a term I recently learned, but a phenomenon I have become all too familiar with. At least 3 times a day I get such a call. The last one started out, "Hello, my name is Alice, and I am with account services. I'm calling about your credit card account." With that, I hung up.
On television daily, the news tells us of another victim of scamming. Someone called and got to them for a lot of money, promising a free vacation, or a tax refund, or some such nonsense. On another newscast, a tree trimmer came to the door, struck a deal to trim some trees, and asked for money up front. They then left with the money, having done no work on the trees.
It is hard for me to understand why people fall for such things, but because they keep doing it, the scammers keep multiplying. More every day.
People used to be honest. My dad taught me to give an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. Tell the truth, my mother told me. Don't lie.
My teachers at Benton Elementary told us students to never cheat. "Stop looking at someone else's work," Mrs Whitaker said.
I have a friend who failed a term paper while attending Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas because the instructor said it appeared to be a copy of another student's work. Therefore not honest and not passing, either.
It is a thing as old as the earth, I guess. People still lie. According to an article in National Geographic magazine recently, everybody lies. I suspect that is an exaggeration. The writer of the article cited a neurological study that proved his point.
I try to be honest with people. I am a writer of books and articles. I must tell the truth or nobody will read my stuff. My mother used to say "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you read." She may have been right, who knows? But the thing is, I believe what I write is the truth, and I hope you do too. So I will keep on writing and ignore those studies about lying. I know I'm not doing it.

Write Down These Words
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you." (Exodus 34:27, NIV)
"Trust the Lord and move forward in faith" were the words given to me at the age of twenty-one, while living with my dad in Topeka, Kansas. Evangelist Harold Velt came to our church one sunny afternoon in July and gave me my patriarchal blessing. His wife Ruth recorded it and later presented it to me in written form. I have it in my fireproof safe today. I often refer to it when I am struggling or need my spirits uplifted. It has been my mantra and the guiding light on my pathway through life.
While writing my daily devotional book, Move Forward in Faith, I spoke of the blessing and what it has meant to me. Three-hundred seventy pages is a lot to write for a book. It will take me eleven more weeks working twelve hours a day to complete it, but it is a labor of love and I wouldn't have it any other way. I absolutely love writing.
One might ask, “How can you find that much to write about?" I can honestly answer that question: My heavenly Father gives me inspiration each and every day. It never is a problem or concern. I wake up between five and six am, make a pot of coffee, and start writing. The ideas flow like water, and as long as I am at my computer they continue flowing, flowing from the source of all great ideas, the Lord himself.
The prophet Isaiah said it with wonderful words as only the "silver-tongued prophet" could do: Isaiah 55:10,11 “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
And that is precisely what I receive from God. "snow come down from heaven" in the form of quiet, peaceful, confident thoughts and words. I never worry or ponder what I should write about, whether it is an article or an entire book. have become an instrument in his hands to bear witness of his great love for all his children throughout the earth. This is how I write, and this is my testimony of God's grace and generosity. What a vocation!
