How Sweet the Sound

How sweet the sound of God's own love, while yet my sins remained.
You saved me by your grace, dear Lord, and set my heart on you.
Your grace relieved me of my fear, your love has seen me through.
You rescued me from Satan's snare, since I've believed in you.
The trials of my life were not in vain, your love has raised me up.
You've seen me safely through the storm, and you will lead me home.
I've walked through valleys dark and deep, through my dark night of the soul, and all the while you've stayed by me; your peace has kept me whole. You've kept your word, your promise true. I trust your grace will see, that when my time on earth is done, in heaven you'll be with me.
No longer fear will have its way, my faith is all in you. You hold me in your arms so near, and there I'll safely stay.
