Advent

On the first Sunday of Advent
O come, Emmanuel
How I long to see Bethlehem
I would kneel at the feet
Of our Lord Jesus

I would kneel at the manger
Where Christ was born
In the stable near the inn
Let me see Mary his mother
And his father, good Joseph

Join with the shepherds
As they worshiped the king
Stand with the wise men
And worship him
Sing with the angels

Who gathered around
While the animals
Watched in wonder
And amazement
O come, O come Emmanuel

I sing with the choir
This first Sunday of Advent
My heart rejoices
Leaps with joy
Good will and peace to all.*
