My Spiritual Anchor (an original poem by Gene Allen Groner)

1.  Nature is my spiritual anchor
The place where I go to clear my mind
2.   I go out each day and walk three miles
Among the trees and under the sun
3.   At night I like walking out under the stars
It's especially nice when the moon shines above
4.   Wherever I am and wherever I go
My spiritual anchor is always close by
5.   We were born in a garden, the Garden of Eden
I return there often as I walk out of doors
6.   Outside in nature is where I belong
The world and the universe are God's abode
7.   I imagine Him walking right beside me
We talk as we walk, my Father and me
8.   It calms my spirit and lifts up my soul
When I am in nature my heart is so full
9.   My spiritual anchor is the place I love best
I can go there each day and it brings peace and rest.
