Spiritual Painting
I recently purchased a painting from St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. To me, it is very spiritual and meaningful. It has three persons in the painting: On the left is the painting of Eve, the mother of all humanity, our first mother of all creation. She is standing in a garden of flowers and other plants--the Garden of Eden.
In the center is Noah, standing next to the ark he constructed, and there is a rainbow, God's symbol of the covenant to humanity to never again destroy the earth with floods. To me, he is the symbol of God's eternal covenant with mankind--the recreation of the earth and replenishment with people and animals.
On the right side of the painting is the picture of Mary, the mother of Jesus. I can see the cross and the plants and grasses beneath, symbolizing the resurrection and new creation of heaven and earth.
All of this shows me God's eternal plan for mankind--creation, forgiveness and re-creation, and resurrection and eternal life with Him.
When I think of this painting hanging on the wall of my apartment, and I look at it every day, I realize that this is the Greatest Story Ever Told--all depicted in the Holy Bible from Genesis to Revelation. This is God's plan of love for each of us. Tears well up in my eyes and I rejoice for His great love for each of us. Hallelulah, Amen!
