Writing a Good Memoir, Part Four
A good memoir is very much like a good novel, with a captivating beginning, an interesting and informative middle, and an ending that leaves the reader satisfied, tying up any loose ends. You might want to end your story by jumping ahead in time to conclude your writing, perhaps even to the present day. This can give the reader a feeling of completion and emotional satisfaction. It's important to avoid going off on a new journey or adventure. Let this memoir reach its goal and leave the reader completely fulfilled and satisfied. This will leave you room to write another adventure later on if you want to.
One technique for the ending is to bring the title of your memoir back into focus, perhaps even restating the title to give the reader a sense of drawing the circle to completion. That way, both the writer and the reader can reflect on the lessons learned on the journey you've just shared with them.

Writing a Good Memoir, Part Three
There are numerous life experiences which you might want to include in writing your memoir. How do you go about deciding which ones to include, and just where to put them in the story line? A good way of understanding the order of placement is to begin with an outline of the events. You will want to outline these experiences in a compelling way that will not only contribute to the overall story, but will also keep the story relevant and interesting. A good outline will help you know just where to begin. There are natural turning points in your life story. Knowing what these turning points are will help you to put them in the best order, not just to keep the reader informed, but more importantly to help the story flow in an interesting way that will hold the reader's interest. For example, you might want to begin with important events from your childhood, or high school. or even in your marriage.
A good outline will assist you in seeing and revealing the main themes in the book. Stay tuned for more information on fleshing out your story and coming to a meaningful conclusion. For more information on writing a good memoir, write to me at geneallengroner@gmail.com. Thanks, and good writing.

Writing a Good Memoir, Part Two
In this second part of the series, Writing a Good Memoir, let me start by restating the importance of creating an interesting story, one that has a strong opening, middle, and ending that keeps the reader wanting to hear more and more about you, the author. A good memoir centers around a particular era or time in the writer's life. The details should focus on particular events that support your main story, so that the story line remains firmly in the reader's mind. And keep the reader always on your mind. Remember, you are writing your memoir not only for yourself -- it is definitely therapeutic -- but also for the reader. Invite the reader into your personal experiences.
Once again, it is very important to be honest. The reader wants to feel assured that what you are telling them is truly honest and authentic, coming from your heart into their heart. If you would like more information or assistance in writing your own memoir, please let me know, and I'll be glad to offer you my professional help. Simply write to me at geneallengroner@gmail.com. Thanks, and best wishes,
Gene A. Groner, author and biographer.

Writing a Good Memoir
What makes a good memoir?
A memoir is different from a biography. A biography is a historical account told about someone else, whereas a memoir is written in the first-person, written with personal knowledge of the events described. A good memoir has an overarching story or theme that is interesting, and it begins with a strong opening that will make an impression on the reader from the very first page. The story must be real, not imaginary. Because the writing is non-fiction, you want it to build trust from the beginning because it is deeply personal, like a secret you have never told anyone else.
Your story comes from your heart, so it creates feelings in the reader, connecting with them on a very personal and emotional level. Write it like you're telling the story to someone face to face. And above all, be honest. I'll tell you more about writing a good memoir later on, but for now it is important to get the help you need so you can make a good start.
You can write to me at geneallengroner@gmail.com for more information. I'll be happy to answer your questions and help you any way I can.
Very truly yours, Gene.

A Wonderful Life, Part Three
It was my very first kiss. Summer youth camp at Mount Zion Park in Odessa, Missouri. One week each summer was like going to heaven, only without the angels and harps. I loved it. Swimming, fishing, canoeing, archery, and evening campfires. Oh, I almost forgot about the girls who were there. That’s what made campfire extra special. Sitting on a blanket with a cute girl and listening to the crackling fire while singing Kumbaya. Then at the end of the campfire time, while everyone was sitting quietly looking at the fire, kids got to tell about the day and what made it so special. Sometimes there were tears of joy and laughter. It was just great!
A Wonderful Life, Part Two
It’s been a wonderful life, full of blessings and beautiful remembrances, thanks to the love of my family and friends. I’m happy to share this testament to the love of and mercy of God and his son Jesus, my Redeemer and friend. I hope you are inspired by the reading. God bless you.*

It is a memoir, a series of memories spanning my adult life thus far, and it covers many of my hopes and dreams, wishes and values that have shaped my life. I hope you will enjoy reading my book and be inspired to write your own life story, your memoir. If you are interested in writing your own memoir, or your life story, I would be honored to assist you. Writing Your Memoir
I have just finished writing and publishing my memoir on Amazon. It is 125 pages of various memories from my life that I want to pass on to my children, my grandchildren, and my future generations. Now I am available to help you write your memoirs.
It's not that difficult, really quite simple as a matter of fact. You can simply talk about your memories, recording them on a small digital recorder and getting the recordings to me so I can put your words on the pages of a book for your family to read whenever they want. That's all there is to it.
I do it all the time---writing memoirs is both interesting and fun to do. I'd like to help you write yours. Just email me at geneallengroner@gmail.com and we can begin any time you like. Thanks for letting me be of service.
Yours sincerely,

Your Memory
Your memory is one of your most valuable assets. Important experiences you want to share with your family. Values and Beliefs that describe who you are. Snippets from your life and your work that may be interesting to others. It's human nature.
The French word for memory or remembrance is "memoir."
In writing my own memoir, I tried to focus on specific moments in my life rather than try to include my whole life's story. I was shooting for 100-150 pages so my family wouldn't get bogged down trying to read a lengthy novel. Moments in my life I felt were important to me, and the kind of things they might be interested in knowing about me. Like memories from my childhood, my faith, my work, my dreams.
I wish my grandparents would have shared some of their memories so I could get to know them better. They didn't. But you can share some of your memories with your children and your children's children. It's not that difficult, really quite simple as a matter of fact. You can simply talk about your memories, recording them on a small digital recorder and getting the recordings to me so I can put your words on the pages of a book for your family to read whenever they want. That's all there is to it.

The Story of Your Life
Have you ever thought how wonderful it would be to know all about your grandparents or great-grandparents? The truth is you can only know what has been written about them unless you are fortunate enough to have known them personally.
Now you can leave the legacy of your life’s story in your own words. You can tell your story, all that you want your family and the generations to know about you by writing your memoir. I know. You are not a writer. Well, fret not. I am a professional writer and I can help you. The process is very simple. Here’s how:
I will provide you with a small digital recorder that you can conveniently carry with you wherever you go. You just tell your story the way you want your family to hear it and let me do the rest. My job is to transcribe your words from the recording and publish it in book and digital format for you and your family. All at your own convenience. Just let me know when you are ready to begin. That’s it! You can write to me at geneallengroner@gmail.com and we can begin whenever you like. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely yours,
Gene Groner, Author and Storyteller www.amazon.com
By his Grace
First of all I’m thankful to be here today!
Like many of you, I have had my trials and disappointments.
But as I look at those times (some that were quite lengthy) God has been there to guide me, protect me, and heal me.
I’m thankful for a loving God who loves us unconditionally and even in times when we have disappointed him he forgives us by his grace.
I have many things for which I am thankful.
I had good parents who brought me up in this church, a loving family who are amazing, and lots of church friends.
I am thankful for the times my Heavenly Father has healed me, protected me, and guided my life.
I am thankful for all our blessings. As we interview and talk to the people who come to our Necessities Pantry, I feel very blessed. I could tell you many stories. Many have very little food, clothing, and sometimes no shelter. We have much to be thankful for. Our hearts go out to those people. There is so much need on this earth. There has never been a time when the good news of Jesus Christ is so needed.
I love serving the Lord and pray for the health and strength to continue to serve.
Thanks to each of you for all your prayers. I also offer my prayers on your behalf.
Thanks and praise be to God our healer, friend, and savior.
