“Great Is Thy Faithfulness, O God My Father.”

“Great Is Thy Faithfulness, O God My Father.”

As a hospice volunteer chaplain, I had the privilege and honor of meeting with a lovely lady celebrating her 92nd birthday. Although she was unable to leave her bed due to her condition, she nonetheless was of good cheer. Her faith was an inspiration to me and to everyone at the nursing home where she stayed. During my last visit with her, she asked me if I would sing a hymn with her, her favorite hymn called Great Is Thy Faithfulness. I was happy to do so as this is also one of my favorite hymns. As we sang the hymn together I could feel the presence of the Living Christ there with us. She said she felt it, too. What better way to honor the memory of that dear, sweet lady than to write a book about the hymn and to tell stories of great faithfulness. That is why I am writing this book. As you read the stories I share, I hope you find that your faith is strengthened and you, also will sing this amazing hymn along with me.

The latest edition of my book, Oh Lamb of God, I Come.  This new edition will be available on Amazon.com in just three days for $4.99 eBook, and $10.95 paperback.

The idea for this book came from a sermon on salvation by the late Billy Graham, in my opinion the greatest evangelist that ever lived. He has reached millions of people around the world, sharing the love of Jesus and the message of his saving grace.

At the close of Billy Graham’s sermons, the  choir always sings the beautiful hymn, Just As I Am. I love that hymn and have even included it in my memorial service I’ve planned for myself. It summarizes my faith in Jesus and my anticipation of going home to heaven one day. I pray that God will bless you with joy, hope, love and peace as you read this book. I know he will.

Sincerely yours,

Gene

Remember the Navajo

Remember the Navajo is now available at Amazon and Kindle for $4.99 to $17.95 .

This book is written in honor of my Navajo friend from Prescott, Arizona whose name is Tony Nez. I first met Tony at the Veterans Administration campus in Prescott in 2018, and we became good friends from the start. Both of us had served in the Marine Corps and were getting our medicines and other services from the VA in Prescott. We went shopping together and I invited him to spend Thanksgiving dinner with my family in Chino Valley. It was wonderful having him with us, and he later told me it was the best Thanksgiving he had ever had.

At Christmastime we went together to the town square in Prescott and enjoyed the evening sitting on the lawn and watching all the lights and entertainment on the square. It was quite a memorable celebration. I love Tony and it pleases me to dedicate this book to him.

The book contains many stories, prayers, and legends from the Navajo Nation. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it. God bless you, everyone.

The Last Words of Jesus

Why are the last words of Jesus Christ on the cross so important to us today? I have asked myself that question many times, and each time I have to look back to the events of his life and ministry during the 33 brief years he lived on this earth—what he did, what he said, and what he taught his disciples, including you and me.

We want to put each of these seven statements or words into context—not just the context of the week leading up to the crucifixion, but also the context of Jesus’ entire life and ministry. By doing so, we will be able to see just why these last words are of paramount importance to all of us, both then and now.

Join me as we embark on this journey together, and may God bless you in your reading is my prayer.

You can find this latest book of mine on Amazon.com for only 4.99 eBook or 10.95 paperback and 27.95 hardcover with full color pictures.

Because He Lives

One of my favorite songs was written by Bill and Gloria Gaither titled, Because He Lives. This song has given me the inspiration to write this book and to share my personal testimony of the love of Jesus. From a lifetime of experience I can faithfully say that I know Jesus lives and that He loves you and me more than we can imagine. And because he lives, I am filled with hope. Let me share some of that hope with you today.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is the title of my newest book from Amazon.

"To err is human. To forgive is divine" is a quote from the 1711 poem An Essay On Criticism by Alexander Pope.
Humans make mistakes and sin, but forgiveness comes from God and His Son Jesus Christ. When we forgive others, we act in a way that is divine.
In this book, we explore the meaning of forgiveness and how it is possible for humans to experience the healing effect of this divine attribute we know as forgiveness.
Nelson Mandela, the South African leader who led the movement to end Apartheid in the early 1990's once said, "Forgiveness frees the soul, and it ends the fear."
Let's examine the various aspects of forgiveness together, so that we can become a more forgiving and loving people, It is what the Lord desires for all of us, and with His grace and mercy it is made possible.

Thank you for reading my books. God bless you, I pray.

Gene
